v1.1.0 - Detailed Waypoints & Templates

Waypoints has received an update to  make things easier for you the developer and to provide more waypoint information for the player.

Waypoint Parameters

All the plugin's parameters have been re-positioned so you can quickly find the parameter you need and so its less of an eye soar.

Waypoint Templates

Waypoint templates allows you to setup and create your waypoints without the need of using a plugin command to do it. Now you can create all your waypoints in the plugin's parameters and manipulate them using the same plugin commands as before but using the waypoint's templateID  instead of using the waypoint name and category.

Waypoint Information

As you may have already noticed, you now have the option of adding a description of the waypoint as well as a picture. Both the picture and description will  be visible on a new window in the waypoint scene.

Hi,

I like the plugin so far and it works, but I am having some trouble setting it up.  I can't seem to get the location name to show up in the list on the left side (though it shows up on the right, and the categories show up).  I'm also having some trouble with the image not showing in the preview.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I can also post screenshots of the problem if need be; I have a brand new project that I am testing on, so there isn't a conflict between any plugins.  By the way, the demo ZIP did not have the actual game in it, only some resources from the demo.

Thank you for this plugin and I look forward to seeing more updates!

Edit (7/2/21): I figured out how to add the images to the plugin, however, still having issues with the location name on the left side.

Hey there, sorry you’re having problems with our plugin. The demo is intended to only contain the plugin and data files necessary as its main purpose is to be extracted to a brand new project created by MV for demonstration purposes. This ensures that you are using a brand new project when testing our plugin, so we can rule out any compatibility and bugs caused by other plugins. Please create a new project with MV and place the files within the demo zip into the new project and let us know if you’re still having any issues.

Thanks for the response!

I have done what was suggested and started a new project with the demo files.  Unfortunately, I am still having the same issue with the list not appearing on the left side.  I don't have any other plugins on this test project, aside from the Community Basics and the Waypoints plugin.  Also, I noticed a .json file for Map004 and have created 4 maps in total on my test project; the first 3 maps auto-filled themselves in after importing the demo files and restarting RPG Maker, but the 4th one remained (and still remains) blank.  The CommonEvents .json seems to possibly not be loading, either, as there are no common events (if they were included) when I opened the project.  I'm not sure whether this is a bug or not but thought I should mention these as well.

Thank you for your help; I'm looking forward to getting it implemented into my game, it will make things a lot easier and it's definitely more appealing to go through the menu than trying to use items, eventing, etc.  😁  Please let me know if you need any additional information or screenshots.

Thanks for going through the demo process for us, we will take a look at this problem further and get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi, any updates available?  Thank you very much for working on this!

Sorry for the delay we’ve been very busy. So we took a look at the plugin and are unable to reproduce the problem. We created a new game project with RPG Maker MZ 1.6.1 and transferred the demo files over, all files successfully copied including the common events which will ensure the Waypoints are added. We hit play-test and look at the Waypoints menu and they were available for us and all items were displaying correctly.

You can send us a demo at our support email and we can take a further look for you. support@ltngames.xyz
