MZ Port & Bug Fixes

The time has finally come, the MZ port for Endless Runner beta is here and comes packed with numerous bug fixes and adjustments for all versions.

We have released the beta version for MV as well as MV legacy(for 1.5 and earlier) as well as MZ all in separate channels, at least until we figure out the best way to organize each release.

LTN_EndlessRunner-beta.zip is the MZ beta version and the MZ version of this plugin will now take place of the original LTN_EndlessRunner.zip as soon as the stable version is available. MV versions will now be in a MV channel and will have MV in the name.

What has been fixed?

  • Fixed bug where dashing was not counting the current default speed of the level
  • Fixed a bug where the dashing timer was not working correctly causing much undesired behavior
  • Fixed a bug where adding the goal obstacle would not add correctly due to not correctly counting partially on screen obstacles
  • Fix jump sound was playing more than once per jump
  • Fix a bug where the action list for winning would run continuously instead of just once
  • Fix a bug where obstacle padding was not being applied correctly
  • Fixed a bug where obstacles would not be properly cached, causing minor performance issues
  • Fixed a bug where debug drawing of colliders would show even for obstacles without a collider

Known Bugs

  • There is still a rare occurrence of the goal obstacle not correctly spawning
  • Background obstacles currently follow the same padding rules as collision type obstacles

Has anything been added?

Yes, there is now an obstacle population parameter for adjusting how many obstacles should be cached and added to the level. Before this obstacles were created based on the goal amount of the level.

Hello again friend, hope you're doing well. I have a quuestion: is there any way i can implement animate backgrounds and obstacles? And, if not, could you add that in the future?

(1 edit)

There is currently no way of using animated backgrounds but I will absolutely add that soon, either to the next update or before I release the non-beta version of the MZ port.
